Sports for Active Minds, Healthy Lives

Sports for Active Minds, Healthy Lives

The training course took place in Leipzig, Germany, from 20-28 June 2026, bringing together 41 participants from 8 countries: 🇨🇿 Czechia, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇮🇹 Italy, 🇱🇻 Latvia, 🇲🇰 North Macedonia, 🇷🇸 Serbia, 🇪🇸 Spain, and 🇹🇷 Türkiye.

The project was co-funded by the 🇪🇺 European Union, coordinated and hosted by 🇩🇪 @lucky_punch_jugendhilfe

Throughout the training course, participants explored the role of sports and physical activities in promoting mental well-being, healthy lifestyles, personal development, and inclusion through a variety of non-formal education methods.

The programme included interactive workshops, team-building activities, outdoor exercises, group challenges, and reflection sessions focused on physical activity, mental well-being, personal development, and the use of sports in youth work.

Participants strengthened their understanding of how sports can empower young people, promote inclusion, build confidence, and encourage healthier lifestyles.

As part of the programme, participants also had the opportunity to experience rafting together, taking part in an exciting outdoor activity that encouraged teamwork, trust, communication, and stepping outside their comfort zones.

As a key project outcome, participants co-created a practical toolbox featuring new sports activities and methods that can be adapted and used in their daily youth work. The toolbox was designed to support youth workers in integrating sports and physical activities into their work, encouraging young people to become more active while promoting teamwork, inclusion, personal development, and well-being.
