“H.V.A.L.A. – Healthy Volunteering Accretes Local Activism
From March 15 to 18, 2024, the APV – preparatory meeting was successfully held in Kruševac as the first activity of the “H.V.A.L.A. – Healthy Volunteering Accretes Local Activism” project, implemented by the Red Cross of Kruševac .
2 participants from Bright were present in the APV in Krusevac and planned the upcoming Youth Exchange.
In the period from April 5 to 15, 2024, Kruševac hosted a youth exchange, which is implemented as part of the project “H.V.A.L.A. – Healthy Volunteering Accretes Local Activism”, which is implemented by the Kruševac Red Cross in cooperation with partner organizations from: North Macedonia , Spain, Greece, Turkey and Romania. The project is implemented within the framework of the #Erasmusplus program, and is co-financed by the European Union – Tempus Foundation.
As part of the youth exchange. 37 young volunteers and activists, together with their group leaders, had the opportunity to participate in numerous activities with the aim of improving their knowledge and skills in order to promote local youth activism in their local communities through healthy volunteering. During the youth exchange, the World Health Day and the beginning of the European Youth Week were also marked, and the participants had the opportunity to learn about the regular activities of the Kruševac Red Cross, as an organization that gathers the largest number of young volunteers in the city. Through various workshops, the participants of the exchange had the opportunity to master the basic techniques of providing first aid, to become familiar with the way of planning, organization and realization of a joint, volunteer action, after which they realized in practice a joint, volunteer, environmental action of cleaning Jastrebac while hiking, as a form of promotion of sports in nature.
In addition to regular activities, in this free time, the participants also organized 3 inter-cultural evenings where they presented customs, culture, food, part of the traditions of the countries they come from, and at the same time, during the exchange, they had the opportunity to get to know the beauty of our region. , our culture, history and customs, which was also contributed by a visit to the historical museum of the town of Kruševac and Ribarska Banja, at the foot of Jastrevac.
A formal reception was held for all participants in the Mosaic hall of the town hall of Kruševac, where they met with the mayor of Kruševac, Mr. Ivan Manojlović, the president of the Kruševac city assembly, Dr. Dragana Barišić, the deputy mayor, Snežana Radojković, and the mayor’s assistant for social activities, Snežana Aleksić. , discuss the needs of young people in local communities.
All participants of the youth exchange “H.V.A.L.A.” received #YouthPass certificates, as a form of confirmation of their participation in the implemented activities, as well as the skills and knowledge they brought with them from this project.
